Niagara Falls Rotary project comes to fruition! Members of the Rotary Club of Niagara Falls recently enjoyed their first group walk, on the recently established Rotary Storywalk Pathway.
The afternoon walk took place Saturday October 17th, along the Storywalk Pathway, part of the Millennium Trail that travels across the City of Niagara Falls in a Southwest to Northeastern direction.  The Rotary portion is approximately 1 km from Drummond Road to Dorchester Road, and follows along the Ontario Hydro canal that helps provide water source for the Queenston Hydro plant.

In an effort to support community literacy, the uniqueness of this Pathway, is the inclusion of 40 story boards (scheduled to be installed by spring 2021), that will tell a story page by page as children and their families travel along the path.  This portion of the project will be sponsored and maintained by the Niagara Falls Public Library, with a plan to update the story every 8 weeks.

Funding, in the amount of $75,000, was pledged jointly by the Niagara Falls Rotary Club Foundation ($50,000), and by the Rotary Club of Niagara Falls Sunrise Foundation ($25,000), with the remaining amount for construction to be paid for by the City of Niagara Falls.
