Evaluation Criteria for Funding

Our club has set a strategic framework that will be used as an internal guideline for assessing requests for funding or project support. While most of our funds are committed in advance, we welcome additional requests for funding which support our strategic goals. To assist you with your proposal, it would be helpful for you to understand how our club functions and what we are striving to achieve:

We aim to support organizations that:

  • Are seeking funds for a specific need as opposed to operating funds

  • Have a focus on Youth

  • Offer a strong organization with a clearly defined plan or objective

  • Promote health and well-being, education, (literacy, art and culture)

  • Focus on assisting those who are under supported by government

  • Have a strong, sustainable plan and realistic timeline

  • Have potential opportunity for our members to get involved

  • Assist the disadvantaged either locally in Niagara Region or the Developing World

Rotary International Avenues of Service

The Rotary Club of Niagara Falls (and Rotary International worldwide) is organized into five “Avenues of Service". In order to meet our club's goals, we have decided that each avenue should focus on specific areas described below.

Club Service: This avenue focuses on strengthening fellowship and ensuring the smooth functioning of our Rotary club.

Community Service: This avenue focuses on the opportunities Rotary has to support and implement projects and activities that improve life in the local community.

Vocational Service: This avenue involves club members serving others through their professions and aspiring to high ethical standards. Rotarians, as business leaders, share skills and expertise through their vocations, and they inspire others in the process.

International Service: This avenue focuses on improving literacy, child and maternal health and clean water, while striving to reduce hunger and poverty in the world beyond Canada's borders. Equally important is ensuring the projects we undertake are sustainable. Last, but not least, we wish to improve understanding, goodwill and peace through our work, both internationally and within our community.

New Generations Service: New Generations Service recognizes the positive change implemented by youth and young adults through leadership development activities, involvement in community and international service projects, and exchange programs that enrich and foster world peace and cultural understanding.
